In 1965 Hans Speglitz founded Rotronic AG in Zurich, Switzerland. Shortly after the Rotronic acquisition of Swiss representation of Schroff, a sensor for measuring temperature and humidity was born. This sensor was adapted into many early forms of in-house electronics, forming the "Humidity and Temperature Measurement" category of business. In 1985, with the creation of Rotronic Instrument Corporation in New York, Rotronic was able to push sales into North America.
