All natural and measuring almost 100 yards long, this skein of edible sheep casings from T.S.M. (model 22200) is ideal for making your own hot dogs and similar sausages. These made-in-the-U.S.A. casings will be shipped sealed in a package containing a solution of purified salt, and if you don’t open the box the casings have an indeterminate (but long) shelf life; once the sealed bag has been opened the casings have to be refrigerated, and they generally last about a year (keep them in their salt brine when storing them in the included sealable zipper bag). The diameter of the produced sausage measures from 1" to 1.1" when stuffed. The casings here will make 45+ pounds of sausage and if you are smoking your sausage these casings are indeed “smoke permeable”. Note: These casings cannot ship outside the U.S.A.; these casings should be soaked and flushed before use and should not be frozen.
